Highlights:
Using google maps to know where we are, to plot our route each.
Using wi-fi each night to find accommodation for the next night.
Using Michelin maps to find and calculate arrival for lunch specials for 2 or 3 course meals all spectacularly plated.
From lavender fields to vinyards, apple orchards, sunflower and corn fields (sometimes gone black), the canals, the mountains, the pretty rural towns that we could size up and sass out pretty quickly...cycled three hours in Aix-en-Provence. Loved St. Remy as a town and of course great stay at a cottage. The coastal area was gorgeous, Marseilles somewhat grungy but renewing itself (lots of immigrants and many km to get into town).
Bikes worked great...Liz had to work harder than I did.
Average 60 km per day...some more some less...usually 10 more than required distance because of meandering, etc.
Cool in the morning, warmer as the day went on. Always be equipped for rain. Torrential downpour one day and another couple of days in Bezier (anti Muslim town) due to rain. One night with Amanda and family.
